Last night I was lucky enough to be around when I heard "oohing" and "aahing" in the fashion chat. Of course, I had to have a look to see what the fuss was about, and was lucky enough to snag a pic of this fabulous dress.
As soon as I saw it, I wanted it, and begged the designer Ayannah Slade for one.
Once I tried it on, I have to say, the pics I saw, did not do this dress justice.
Its just gorgeous.
Simple, elegant, yet very sexy, this dress flatters and sits nicely. The colour is even better than it appears in the pic, and the creases are done very nicely.
In fact, I could not find an angle this dress looks bad at!
Its not very often that I find a dress that I like absolutely everything about. This is one of the few.
I have photographed this without a system skirt, but one is available for it, for those times you want to seductively slide a leg out whilst dancing.
I'm not sure whether the dress is actually released as yet, but if not, it will soon be on its way!
Ayannah assures me her new store is in production as I type, so don't forget to pop over there and grab one of these!
I'm also wearing the very elegant "Nice" hairstyle by Magika.
I tp'ed over there to snag some of the hair thats on sale, and picked this up while I was there, the fatpack is at half price!
Natch!

Evolution?
However, I did feel guilty that I have left this blog go so long without being updated (slack, I know!) so I thought I'd pull out the scary old mugshots, and show you my avie's progression in SL in regard to looks.

RL Avie Challenge
As I discovered, it is much harder than it sounds!
After much cursing at the sliders, I finally got a shape similar to mine, although SL's propensity to make cheekbones razor sharp caused a few headaches.
Skin was another issue....this ones a little more tanned than I am, but it was by far the closest I could find. The only thing I did have to do, was photoshop a little colour into the skin's lippy, as the original was very pale, and threw the whole look off.

Fae Dreamer
Except, as mentioned before...we don't do Halloween that much in Australia, and also, I really don't like all the orange and black. I'm not a pumpkin! ffs
But who doesn't like getting to wear something they normally wouldn't wear?
So, in very vague tribute to halloween, I've gone for a dreamy fairy look today.
It was the wings that initially inspired me.
I picked them up as a freebie, and just thought they were so pretty...and the particles weren't over the top annoying, which is a lovely change from most I see!
I teamed it with that gorgeous skin from Frick, and dug through the depths of my inventory (and omg the things I saw!!!) to find the perfect dress, which came in the form of Persephone.

Red and Black
And yeah, you'll have to put up with me spelling stuff like colours the Aussie way haha
When I asked my friend Nova for recommendations on places to get a new AO, Nova, who has an affection for Japanese sims, passed me a LM for LicoLico, somewhere I'd never heard of before, but thats not unusual for me :)
Off I went...and promptly spent the next several hours wandering around there, happily snapping up freebies and buying clothes.
One of the outfits I bought, was the red Witch like dress, from Hal*Hina, and that proved to be the inspiration for this first outfit.
I absolutely love corsets, and the one that came with this outfit is definitely no exception.
I love the ribbon and lace edging on this, and of course the colours. I'm a bit partial to this theme lol.
Although the whole outift is cute as, I decided to mix it up a bit...so for this pic I have teamed the corset on the jacket layer, with a top called Mariah from A piece of candy. Its another item I wear all the time, and I have in several colours, because you can team it with jeans for a casual look, or dress it up. And, it was a dollarbie lol. Always a bonus!
The skirt is the super cute short skirt from DE's Spectra set. DE is always stylish, and I have never been disappointed with anything about an outfit I have bought from there. It was one of the first shops where I went after being a noob, and looking around at all the gorgeous people, and realising the free stuff available at that time just didn't cut it. I still shop there regularly.
This next outfit...omg I love this!!!
I love going dancing, and this one just puts me right in the mood for a sexy salsa.
The only criticism I can make, is that the skirt is no mod.Frustrating, and an omission that can often make the difference between me buying something, or leaving it.
But in this case, I loved the dress so much, that I actually made small adjustments to my shape, and saved a copy for when I wear this dress. Thats how much I love it!
To complete the look, you cannot go past these shoes....the Lady Rose shoes, which come with that gorgeous rose hairpin.
In both pics, I am wearing the tights from Sheer. These are faves because they are actually full stockings, rather than the thigh highs that are everywhere, and to me, look a little classier.I also love the back seam...just that bit of eleganceof days gone by.
I'm also wearing the Genesis Cocktail ring, which is another dollarbie I picked up, and is colour change...yay!
I'm also wearing Miriel's eyes in both. These are just beautiful, and she has a huge range of colours available. Initially I went and just picked up the freebie/demo pack, and wore those for a while, but then I had to go back and pick up some more. Miriel also has a gorgeous range of jewellery there, that you definitely should check out while you're there.

Raindrops on Roses
I just love clothes…and shoes, and hair, and jewelry, and all those sorts of little goodies.
Like you, I scour the many blogs, to see what new stuff is out that I just absolutely have to have….but every now and then I find a little gem tucked away in a shop somewhere, that nobody knows about, or are keeping it to themselves. Shame on them!
So my mission is to spill the beans, and share with you the gorgeous finds I discover. Some will be new, some won’t be….some will be by the big name designers, but others will be from people you might never have heard of, but have goodies that I think are definitely worth a look at.
To start off, I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite items, the ones that keep getting pulled out of the closet, and worn again and again. Hence the title of this post.
As you can tell, I like to go through a decent variety of looks, depending on my mood!
First off, is the fave jeans from Mischief. I love Mischief for mix and match items, and these jeans definitely get worn again and again! I’ve teamed it with another favorite from Mischief, the Amanda top, which I own in several colors lol.
Then, there’s the boots. If I’m wearing boots, it’s a 90% chance it’s these, from Jaywalk. There is nothing I don’t love about these; the shape, texturing, the buckles, but most of all, the way they’re not chunky things that are twice as wide as my legs.
The hair is another favorite, from Philotic Energy. I actually think I found it in the guys section, but who cares? Nice and chunky cut, but still with soft flexi.
Next…..is my absolutely super dooper, oh-so yummy, all time favorite shoes.
They only came in three colors, which is my only complaint….and yes, I own all three. If there were more colors, I’d be there, throwing my Lindens at the designer, in an absolute shopping frenzy lol. Indi Designs also do clothes, but for me, it’s all about those shoes.
You actually get two pairs, with, and without the rivets…..guess which ones I prefer? Hehe
The last pic, is a dress I stumbled across by accident. Don’t you love those?
I’d tp’ed in to go to another shop, and walked past this one, and the dress was just there in the window, waiting for me. I could almost swear it was calling my name.
The hair, was a bargain I got in one of Bewitched’s wonderful hair hunts, but because styles with no fringe just make me look gack, I’ve teamed it with ETD’s fabulous bangs, and slightly tinted the hair to match.
